Trails: A Fun Place to be Active

People looking for ways to become more active should check out local trails. They offer a place for safe, scenic and convenient exercise and recreation.

Many trails can be found throughout the Cedar Rapids Metro Area; see the Metro Area Trails Guide accompanying the Rx For Fitness booklet, or visit the Linn County Trails Association website at http://www.linncountytrails.org.

Trails help people of all ages add exercise to their daily routines and have fun:

  • Walking, jogging, running, and hiking.
  • Rollerblading/in-line skating.
  • Using a wheelchair for recreation.
  • Bicycling.
  • Cross-country skiing and snow shoeing.

"Hitting the nation's many trails and pathways is a great way for all Americans to have fun and, at the same time, get some valuable exercise."
